Meet April Parker, PA-C | Your Holistic Family Provider in Lake Norman

April Parker, PA-C is the founder and lead provider at Destiny Health Integrative Family Practice of Lake Norman. After more than two decades practicing medicine in conventional clinical settings, April founded Destiny Health to deliver the kind of unhurried, whole-person, root-cause healthcare she always wished she could give her patients and the kind of healthcare she wanted for her own family.

Credentials and Clinical Background

April Parker, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 25 years of clinical experience in family medicine, urgent care, and primary care. She is trained in functional and integrative medicine principles and incorporates both conventional and root-cause approaches into her practice.

In addition to her clinical background, April is a certified Emotion Code® and Hyperbaric Practitioner®, and has pursued continuing education in nutritional medicine, supplement protocols, environmental medicine, and hormone optimization. She is an active member of the Direct Primary Care community and an advocate for patient-centered care and medical freedom.

A Homeschool Mom Who Understands Families

April homeschooled all five of her children. She knows the rhythm of a homeschool family’s week. She knows that the conventional medical system is not built around homeschooling schedules, that mandatory school physicals and standardized vaccine timelines do not always fit how homeschool parents make healthcare decisions, and that homeschool families often want a practitioner who treats them as the lead decision-maker for their own children.

Destiny Health is one of the very few integrative family practices in the Lake Norman area that is actively, openly, and warmly built around homeschool families. (See our Homeschool Families page for what that looks like in practice.)

A Message From April

I received my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at A.T. Still University in Arizona in 1999 and was trained by a wonderful osteopathic doctor. I loved family medicine, but then transitioned into urgent care to better accommodate homeschooling my 5 children. In my journey of helping people with their health I’ve learned that allopathic medicine (which is the medical training of MDs and PAs) is just a tiny piece of the pie and that the rest of the pie holds so much truth. I’m so excited and so grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned and be free to learn and share so much more! You would think that my mission in life is to heal the sick… While I love practicing medicine, and healing the sick, my mission is actually to Liberate the Captive. I support life; medical freedom; informed consent; birth, school, and vaccine choice; religious freedom, and all ideas and practices that promote liberty.

I have many interests and hobbies including camping, gardening, traveling, dancing, trying new whole-food recipes, and reading, especially historical romance and fantasy. I especially love cruising with my husband and reading aloud to my children. I also love helping people! Every day I pray I can be an instrument in the Lord’s hands to serve His children. I hope I can be of service to you and your family.

Blessings,

April
