Yes. Many medical conditions appropriately require treatment with medication. However, when clinically appropriate, we first consider evidence-informed alternatives and supportive therapies. For example, in cases of an early or mild sinus infection, patients who prefer to avoid antibiotics may benefit from initial supportive treatments aimed at reducing symptoms and supporting the body’s natural healing response, with the goal of potentially preventing the need for antibiotics when possible.
Yes, we recommend either medical insurance or a health sharing co-op. While you will not need medical insurance to be seen in our practice, an insurance policy or medical sharing plan may help with any significant unplanned medical needs that require imaging or treatment by a specialist or hospital.
We believe in fully informed consent for all medical treatments and each patient should have the opportunity to choose the treatment that meets his/her individual needs. While we do not provide vaccines in our practice, we can discuss potential risks and benefits of each vaccine and you may obtain vaccines at your local county health department should you wish to receive them. Vaccines are not required in order to receive care from April.
Destiny Health is located off of Exit 23 in Huntersville, 5 minutes west of the Novant Huntersville hospital on Gilead Rd. April is also available to meet virtually via telemedicine.

In the event of unexpected illness, care can often be provided outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and while you are traveling, helping to address many concerns without the need for urgent care or emergency room visits. In many cases, even one or two such visits can exceed the cost of an annual membership, making ongoing direct access both clinically and financially beneficial.

If you are a member, communication is available through a secure, HIPAA-compliant electronic patient portal for routine questions and non-urgent needs. In addition, you will have direct access to April’s contact information and are encouraged to call or text for urgent medical concerns. This model is designed to provide timely access to care and support, with the goal of helping you stay healthy and out of urgent cares and emergency rooms.
No problem! Even when you are out of town, you can contact April whenever you need it. If you need a prescription called in, that’s covered as well.

If imaging is required, orders will be sent to a local imaging facility, and results will be returned to our office for review. Discounted self-pay imaging options are also available for cash-paying patients.

This allows for more comprehensive testing at a fraction of typical insurance-based costs. For example, advanced functional lab panels that may otherwise cost $1,500 can often be completed for $150–$200, typically including an extensive multi-page report.
April Parker, PA-C, has been practicing medicine for nearly 25 years. Throughout her career in primary care and urgent care, she has maintained a strong interest in holistic and integrative approaches, consistently incorporating these principles into her clinical practice alongside conventional medicine.
She has worked locally within the Atrium Health system and currently provides care through Novant GoHealth Urgent Care and Nirvana Hyperbaric Institute. In addition to her clinical background, April is a certified Hyperbaric Practitioner and a certified Emotion Code Practitioner.
Hours vary and, as a member, you will have the ability to see my availability and self-schedule at a time that is convenient for you. If you don’t find a time that works for you, April is happy to discuss options including evenings and weekends.
We understand that life circumstances change. We do require a 6 month commitment upon joining the practice, but you can cancel at any time after 6 months. If you decide to join the practice again after canceling your membership, there will be a sign-on fee equal to the current registration fee.
