Our Philosophy is Whole-Person, Root-Cause Medicine

Destiny Health Integrative Family Practice is built on a simple but increasingly rare conviction: healthcare should be about the human being in the chair, not the billing code on the chart. Our philosophy is the foundation under everything we do from the way we run appointments, to the conditions we treat, to the DESTINY framework we use to map your path forward.

What We Believe About Conventional Medicine

At Destiny Health, we see conventional medicine as a powerful tool that works best when it is integrated with a broader, root-cause and prevention-focused approach. We do not reject it; we build upon it. With April’s 25+ years of clinical experience in conventional primary care and urgent care settings, we bring a strong foundation of evidence-based medicine into everything we do. Our goal is to combine the best of both worlds so patients receive thoughtful, whole-person care that supports both immediate medical needs and long-term health.

The Five Beliefs That Shape Destiny Health

1. Healthcare Should Be Unhurried

The conventional model often allows only 7–10 minutes with a provider, which is not enough time to truly understand a patient’s health story. At Destiny Health, good medicine is believed to require time. Visits are scheduled for 30–60 minutes, allowing space to understand each patient’s unique story and needs.

2. Symptoms Are Signals, Not Problems

Symptoms such as fatigue, digestive issues, and hormonal changes are not the root problem, but signals that something in the body is out of balance. Rather than simply suppressing symptoms, the focus is on identifying and addressing underlying root causes.

3. The Body Heals Itself When Given the Right Conditions

Lasting healing rarely comes from a single intervention. Instead, it comes from creating the right conditions for the body to repair and restore itself. The DESTINY framework is used to guide this process in a clear and structured way (see the DESTINY section for more information).

4. Patients Are the Decision-Makers

Our practice is rooted in faith and a commitment to patient autonomy and informed decision-making. We believe healthcare choices should be made by informed patients, which is why we prioritize informed consent. Patients are met where they are—whether they prefer conventional care, a fully natural approach, or, most commonly, a thoughtful integration of both.

5. Medicine Should Be Personal & Relational

Time is taken to understand each patient’s story, family, and daily life. This relationship-based approach allows care to be more personalized, effective, and meaningful.

What We Believe About Natural Medicine

We believe that God designed the body with an incredible capacity to heal when it’s supported with the right foundations. Natural medicine focuses on addressing root causes rather than simply masking symptoms. Using the DESTINY health framework, we integrate evidence-based conventional care with holistic, natural approaches to help you build lasting health, prevent disease, and support long-term vitality.

How That Philosophy Shows Up in Day-to-Day Care

Believing the right things is not enough; the structure of a practice must actually allow those beliefs to operate. That is why Destiny Health is built as a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership practice rather than an insurance-billed clinic.

  • Affordable, transparent monthly membership ($169 individual / $239 couples / $269 family)
  • No insurance interference in your care decisions
  • Direct text and call access to April between visits
  • Wholesale-priced labs, imaging, and many medications
  • Unhurried appointments scheduled around your life, not the clinic’s productivity targets
  • A practice small enough that you are a person, not a chart number

Who We Are the Right Fit For

  • Patients tired of feeling rushed, dismissed, or unheard in conventional appointments
  • Families who want a single trusted practitioner for parents and children
  • Homeschool families looking for a doctor who shares their values and respects their autonomy
  • People with chronic conditions (fatigue, gut issues, anxiety, hormones, pain) that have not improved with conventional care alone
  • Individuals who appreciate medical freedom, informed consent, and faith-friendly care
  • Anyone who wants to be an active partner in their own health rather than a passive patient
